Alec Smith is the rare athlete who started his journey upside-down—and stayed there, thriving. A former gymnast whose hands knew gravity better than his feet, Alec found a new arena in the world of CrossFit and later the GRID format, where body-control, ring transitions, and hand-to-hand precision define the elite. He hails from CrossFit Krypton, the esteemed gym founded by his family, where he honed the gymnastic mastery and brutal strength that led him to multiple appearances at the top level of CrossFit competition.

Last season, Alec earned the title of Bodyweight Specialist of the Year for the Venom—an honour he richly deserved. He stood alone in the league as the only athlete to complete every body-weight element: from aerials and back uprise, to backward roll to support, ring to handstand, and handstand ringer. His fluid strength and aerial control set the pace for his peers.
